We know that the world is coming more PC (politically correct) because of us millenials. But how does people's attitudes affect how companies operate their marketing methods? According to ASA (Advertising Standards Authority), the most complained about advert was KFC's dancing chicken. People complained that it was offensive to vegetarians, vegans and children. This is utterly prosperous! It's a non-threatening chicken dancing about to funky music. Companies are going to have to think about how they advertise their services/products in the future and follow a magic checklist just so people don't get upset.

Shock and guerrilla marketing are going to become a thing of the past because of peoples attitudes towards the content in these methods. It's a shame because shock marketing is probably the most effective when it comes to grabbing the attention of the viewer. I can remember so many anti-smoking adverts from when i was a child because it shocked me into how harmful smoking is and as a result, this worked as it made me never want to smoke ever. Because of its effectiveness shock marketing is one of the most successful marketing methods out there but because people get too offended, it will be wiped away. The thing that hurts the most is the fact that in certain topics like health, climate change etc., people need to be made aware and using shock marketing will be the most effective tool.
